About You & Your Work
What is your current role and organization?
I’m currently a Data Scientist at McKinsey & Company.
Can you share a bit about your career journey since graduating from the Master of Analytics program?
I joined McKinsey in September, shortly after graduating from the Master of Analytics program. Prior to that, I was a Data Scientist Intern at Gotion during the summer. I applied for my current role in April and received the offer in July, which made for a smooth transition into full-time work after graduation.
What are you working on now that you find most interesting or impactful?
I work with McKinsey’s People & Organizational Performance (POP) team on AI-driven workforce transformation. My work includes building LLM-powered agents, chat-based analytics tools, and end-to-end AI systems that support real organizational and talent-related decisions.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy karaoke nights, watching movies, and exploring new restaurants. I also love spending time outdoors and traveling whenever I can. I enjoy capturing and collecting small, random moments from these experiences — some of which I share on my personal website.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
People might be surprised to learn that my partner and I enjoy making cocktails at home. It’s a small creative ritual that lets us explore flavors and enjoy the process of trying something new.
Connection to the Program
How did the Master of Analytics program help prepare you for your current role?
The machine learning and statistics courses were extremely helpful during the interview process and in building a strong technical foundation. The career course was also invaluable — it provided clear guidance on job searching, applications, and how to present myself confidently. I’m especially grateful to Diana and Josh for their constant support and for answering so many of my questions throughout the process.
Was there a class, project, or experience in the program that particularly shaped your career path?
The capstone project was especially impactful. It gave me hands-on experience building an end-to-end analytics product to support decision-making — from data collection and organization, to model selection, and finally presenting insights through a user-friendly frontend. This mirrors very closely the kind of work I do today.
Reflections & Advice
What advice would you give to prospective or incoming Master of Analytics students?
Finding a job in the U.S. can be challenging, so my advice is to grasp every opportunity — whether it’s a short conversation, a career fair, or applying to a role even if you have some self-doubt. Small opportunities often lead to unexpected outcomes.
What skills or mindset do you think are most important for analytics professionals today?
Being decision-oriented is key. Beyond technical skills, it’s important to stay open to learning new tools and methodologies quickly, and to focus on how analytics can drive real-world impact.
