Congratulations, and welcome to Berkeley Analytics! Our admissions committee has enthusiastically recommended you for admission for Fall 2024 to UC Berkeley’s Master of Analytics degree program. We are impressed with your academic accomplishments and strong interest in pursuing a career in Analytics.

At Berkeley IEOR, we expand the frontiers of optimization, stochastics and data science enabling transformative decision analytics and technologies to solve grand challenges in transportation, supply chains, healthcare, energy, robotics, finance and risk management.

- June 1, 2024: Deadline to submit Statement of Legal Residence (SLR)
- June 4, 2024: Analytics Student Organizations Virtual Info Session
- June 12, 2024: Career and Professional Virtual Onboarding
- June 17, 2024: Enrollment Virtual Info Session
- July 8-19, 2024: Session 1 of the virtual Python Bootcamp (optional for those already fluent in Python, but is strongly recommended for the majority of students)
- July 2024: Berkeley Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) waiver deadline
- July 15, 2024: California Residency document deadline
- July 19, 2024: Phase 1 Enrollment Opens for Fall 2024 (Check CalCentral for your exact enrollment date and time)
- August 2024: International Office In-Person Welcome Day (optional, but highly encouraged for international students)
- August 12-23, 2024: Session 2 of the virtual Python Bootcamp (optional for those already fluent in Python, but was strongly recommended for the majority of students)
- August 19, 2024: Enrollment Adjustment period begins
- August 23, 2024: Fall 2024 semester payment deadline
- August 2024: UndocuGrads Orientation (optional)
- August 2024: Graduate Division’s Virtual New Graduate Student Orientation (optional)
- August 22, 2024: Teaching Conference for First-Time International GSIs (if applicable)
- August 23, 2024: Teaching Conference for All First-Time GSIs (if applicable)
- August 27, 2024: In-person Master of Analytics New Student Orientation (mandatory)
- August 27, 2024: In-person Master of Analytics happy hour social (optional)
- August 28, 2024: Fall 2024 Semester Instruction begins
- September 4, 2024: Grad-stravaganza (optional)
- September 6, 2024: Deadline to drop Fall 2024 semester courses without a fee ($10/class after this date)
- September 13, 2024: Deadline to add Fall 2024 semester courses without a fee ($5/class after this date)

Graduate Division’s New Student Guides
The Graduate Division has created a New Graduate Student Guide that covers everything from submitting your final transcripts to parking and transportation at Berkeley. Please review this prior to your arrival.
Heather Iwata
Heather Iwata oversees IEOR’s Master of Science, Master of Engineering, Master of Analytics and PhD programs.
She holds a B.A. in Communication and Psychology from the University of California, Davis, and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Guidance from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Heather has nearly 20 years of experience in admissions and student affairs in higher education. She has a love for all things Disney and enjoys a good dance party with 90’s R&B, hip hop and pop music.
Erica Diffenderfer
Erica focuses on on serving students in IEOR’s Master of Analytics, Master of Engineering, Master of Science, and PhD programs.
She is originally from Savannah, Georgia. She attended Georgia Southern University, where she earned her BS in Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree. Before joining Berkeley, Erica taught secondary mathematics and also worked at the University of Florida in admissions and student affairs. Outside of work, she takes advantage of the nice weather and scenic trails in the Bay Area by hiking, running, and camping.
